I can understand why this might be frustrating for you, but we can help you get this figured out. It sounds like there might be an issue with the trailer wiring having a short, which we've seen cause this before. The easy way to test this is going to require a circuit tester like the # PTW2993, and you'll need to have someone help you to perform this test.
You'll want to unplug the trailer and plug the Curt Echo # C51180 into your vehicle, so you can test the brake output. You'll need to ground the tester, press the brakes and touch the pin in the 5-o'clock position on the Echo; it should show that it's receiving power. Then, instead of pressing the brakes, turn on the headlights and see if you're getting power through that same pin; you can also put the turn signal on to do the same test. If the headlights and turn signals don't put power to that pin, then there's going to be a short on the trailer that's causing this issue and you'll want to examine the trailer side wiring. If you're getting power when the headlights are turned on or the blinker activated, then the issue is with the vehicle's wiring.
If the issue is on the trailer side, you'll want to examine the trailer wiring thoroughly for any cut wiring that might be causing a short. If the error is on the wiring of the vehicle, let me know and we can give you some troubleshooting steps for that.
I've also linked some helpful articles on troubleshooting a 7 way wiring harness and a diagram that shows where to look on the Echo to find the correct pin.
