Atwood CO2 and Propane Detector Beeps and Flashes

Question:

My detector beeps 4 times about every 2 or 3 minutes, the red led for the co2 flashes. There is noway that it is detecting anything. It has a date on the back of 2015. Could it be at the end of its life already?

Expert Reply:

Yes, it does indeed sound like the carbon monoxide detector has gone bad which is usually the case when you get a bunch of false alerts. The average lifespan is around 5-7 years so it's time to replace this one for which I recommend using the RVSafe RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector part # RS34FR.
