Mounting Swagman XCS to the Back of Jeep Wrangler
Question:
THE SWAGMAN XCS SEEMS TO BE A GREAT CHOICE FOR PULLING OUR UTILITY TRAILER BEHIND OUR CLASS C MOTORHOME. IT WILL ALSO WORK PULLING OUR WRAMGLER. WILL IT WORK WELL MOUNTED DIRECTLY TO THE WRANGLER? WILL I BE ABLE TO OPEN THE REAR DOOR? DO I NEED EXTRA PARTS?

Swagman Traveler XCS # S64664 will definitely work mounted behind your motorhome while you're towing your utility trailer or your Wrangler. Just make sure your tow bar is long enough so you won't have any issues. From the back of the Traveler XCS to the furthest point is 20" far and 17-3/8" high. You can use those measurements to check if there's enough clearance between the bike rack and the towed vehicle.
As for mounting it behind your Wrangler, you would first need a ball mount shank. The etrailer Ball Mount Kit - Super Extra-Long - 3/4" Rise or 2" Drop # EBMK2EL extends out 16" from hitch pin hole to the ball. You'll get a shorter extension depending on where you put the bike rack in the shank, but it should still be enough extension if you have a spare tire you need to clear on your Wrangler. As for opening your rear door with this bike rack installed, unfortunately, because the bike has such a tall rise, it will be in the way. You might be able to swing out the door partway, but the bent tube won't let you open it further.
