Westin 40-2055 with a 40-205PK Bracket Kit on a 2008 Ford Ranger XL
Question:
Having an issue that the space between Bracket kit installed is 32 inches, while the Space between the guard is 28.8 inches. I read several places that it should fit my truck, but it does not. I installed the bracket correctly per instructions and they fit like a glove. Do I have the right Guard for the 2008 Ranger or should I return it and get another model?

The Westin # 40-2055 is indeed the correct brush guard, it's a fit for the 2006-2012 Ford Ranger and the # 40-205PK is the correct installation kit. Are you sure you have the # 40-2055 guard? The part number isn't usually marked on it and what typically happens is that folks will buy a used guard at a swap meet, purchase the mount kit for their vehicle and will be surprised when they realize that not only are the bracket kits specific to the vheicle, but the grille guards are as well. Long story short, the guard you have wont work with your vehicle unless it's for sure a # 40-2055.
