Differences Between Tekonsha Prodigy and Prodigy P2
Question:
Can I use the Prodigy 90185 in the same way as a 90885 in my 2012 Chevy Silverado as I bought a 2012 without a factory brake controller but I do have a 90185 that I can use.

There are a few differences between the the original Prodigy and the Prodigy P2, with the main differences being that the P2 can be mounted at any angle, as long as it is level side to side and pointed parallel to the direction of travel. The mounting options of the original Prodigy are more limited, between level and 70 degrees up. (click on provided install links for more information). The Prodigy P2 is also compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes, while the original Prodigy was not. The original Prodigy had a red LED display, while the new model P2 uses blue LEDs.
In all other respects, the controllers will operate identically.
