Trailer Hitch Fit for 2012 Toyota Prius v
Question:
I have been told by places like U-haul that my 2012 Toyota Prius V cannot take a hitch. I am not sure how Prius models differ, but can you confirm or deny whether I can get a hitch for my V model?

Your 2012 Toyota Prius v can absolutely have a trailer hitch installed. I can't speak for U-Haul but we have a number of different trailer hitches that fit your '12 Prius v.
The best option, if you want the cleanest look, is the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7192.
That's because this hitch is completely hidden so the crosstube does not show, and it is also the only hitch for your vehicle that has a 2 inch receiver. That is important because a larger receiver means many, many more options for accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers.
The EcoHitch is more expensive than the other hitches, so if you were just using it on occasion and didn't mind having fewer choices for accessories or having the receiver tube showing then you will need the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24847 or Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11276.
These are essentially the same hitch so you can simply go with whichever one is the least expensive and won't be missing out on anything. I have added links below to video installs for you as well if you'd like to check those out.
