There is a slight chance that on your truck's wiring the wire gauge may be printed on the insulation, but at this time we do not know the gauge of the wire running to your trailer connector. Wire gauges can vary between factory-installed and aftermarket harnesses. Generally 12V power and brake controller output wires leading to a 7-way socket are carried on heavier gauge wires, often 10- or 12-gauge, while the lighting functions are carried on 12- or 14-gauge wire.
