Will the Thule OutWay Trunk Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2012 Volkswagen Beetle

Question:

im concerned because of the way the trunk is designed. In mot sure if the straps of the rack are long enough to ensure that the bikes are not touching the car.

Provided that your 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is a hardtop, the Thule OutWay, # TH45JV, is listed as a fit. On a trunk mount bike rack, it is not the straps that determine how far the rack will be from the vehicle, it is the adjustable legs and arms.

This bike rack has an easy to use dial system that you adjust to get the legs in the right place for any given vehicle. The best setting has already been determined by Thule and on your Beetle it is fit dial setting 7. You then adjust the arms to be level.

This should provide you with enough clearance but the only way to be certain is to physically test the rack with your specific rack on the vehicle.
