Im looking for a step for the front of the bed to give me access to my tool box. Will this step work?...If not, what steps do you have for this purpose?

Since you are specifically looking to improve access to the tool box in your truck bed, we can recommend several better options. The item you referenced, part # CARR125001, is a cab step, and this might not provide you with the better access to your tool box that you want. It sounds like you would be better served by a bed step, two of which are listed below.
The Bestop Trekstep # B7540315 is spring-loaded and offers extruded aluminum construction with black powder-coat finish and a 400 pound capacity. This is a bolt-on item that attaches on the driver side in front of the rear wheel.
Another option is the Pilot Truck Bed Step # AS-550, which is a non-spring-loaded swing-out design in cast aluminum with a 300 pound capacity.
We've provided a link to all of the truck bed steps we offer for your vehicle.
