WeatherTech Bug Shield Installation on a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LS Extended Cab
Question:
Hi, I removed an EGR 301429 Bug Shield it has a flag design. I want to replace it with a WT50132 black/smoked model. The 301429 had 5 screws holding it under the lip of the hood. My question is does the 301421 model have the same screw holes I would like to reuse the existing holes. My truck is 2002 Chevy Silverado HD2500 LS Extended Cab short bed Thanks!

Expert Reply:
The WeatherTech Bug Shield, # WT50132, can be installed using adhesive or 4 under-the-hood screws, so it would not use the same screw holes as the EGR bug shields. For your situation, I recommend mounting the bug shield using the adhesive. WeatherTech uses quality 3M automotive tape. The tape is very durable and it will prevent the need to create more screw holes.
