Recommendation for Locking Side Mounted Trailer Jack and Further Securing Trailer

Question:

Does anyone make a side mounted trailer jack that locks? Obviously it would not only have to lock the up and down motion, but also the pivot point for storage when traveling. Or does someone sell a locking device that will prevent the trailer from lowering? Maybe something that clamps around the existing jacks telescoping shaft? I already have a chain and lock through one of my wheels. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...

I am not aware of any locking device for a trailer jack keeping it from raising or lowering. Thinking outside the box, you could wrap the handle in place using a lock like # 107KADSPT which would remove the option of raising or lowering the jack with that handle.

You can lock the jack from swiveling up or down without much issue. You simply utilize the pin hole locations that aren't being used at the time and run a lock through it. For instance the Bulldog Round, Bolt-Thru Swivel Jack - Sidewind - 10" Lift - 2,000 lbs # BD154102 uses a 1/2 inch pin and you can use a pad lock like the Master Lock 2-1/4" Wide ProSeries Resettable Combination Padlock with 2-1/16" Shackle # ML1175LHRS to secure it in your desired position.

The chain you are using through your wheel will serve much like the The Club Tire Claw XL Wheel Lock with Lug Nut Protector Plate # WI491-491LNP but without the lug nut protector still leaves the option of removing the wheel.

You may also want to consider a coupler lock like the Fastway Universal Trailer Coupler Lock for 1-7/8", 2" and 2-5/16" Couplers # FA86-0015-318 or the Master Lock Coupler Lock # ML389DAT to keep anyone from connecting to your trailer.
