Landing Gear is Difficult to Crank Up by Hand
Question:
when trying to lift the front of my toy hauler, all I hear is a rapid clicking noise. I just replaced the motor a month ago. I just bought this toy hauler used in july. they had put a new gearbox on in 2017. I tried to finish leveling it by hand using the hand crank. It lowers easily by hand but is hard to crank up. I got it cranked up to where it was level, removed the crank, went about my business and 10 minutes later it was back down to where it stopped when I elevated and disconnected from my truck. Could it be the gearbox or is it the gears in the legs themself?

Since you are having trouble lifting the jacks manually, the issue seems most likely to be the gear box, so a replacement is in order.
The replacement you can use is the Replacement Aluminum Gearbox for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear # LG-179015.
This gear box will work as a replacement for the vast majority of landing gear, though keep in mind it isn't 100 percent certain it is the gearbox, as there could be a problem with the legs and gears being stripped or broken, which would mean new legs. But that is less likely and more costly so the best route is to go with a new gear box.
