Weight Distribution System for 7,000 lb Enclosed Trailer

Question:

I have a 2014 Toyota Tundra CrewMax. I tow a 7000GVW enclosed trailer and looking for the correct weight distribution system. Can you point me in the correct direction? I do a 1,000 mile trip a couple times a year and definitely need something. I appreciate your time. Thanks.

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TTORTUN4 you were looking at would give some additional suspension support, but I recommend going with a weight distribution system such as the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution Hitch with Sway Control # RP66560. This system gives you a lot more stability and reliability than just using a suspension enhancement, and also gives you sway control to limit side-to-side movement of your trailer. It is also designed to allow for easy adjustment of the head assembly, so it eliminates the hassle of adding and removing washers from within the assembly to get the perfect setting like with other models.

This WD hitch can be used for tongue weights from 600 - 1,200 lbs. Tongue weights usually fall in at around 10-15 percent of the gross trailer weight, so this hitch should be suitable for your application, but I recommend you check and make sure you find your trailer's loaded tongue weight. This is because using a WD hitch that is way over-rated for your trailer can lead to a poor ride quality. I've attached an article below to help you find your trailer tongue weight.
