Curt TriFlex C24VV Brake Controller Activating with Right Blinker on 1991 Ford F-250

Question:

Hooked up a C24VV to my 1991 Ford F-250, per directions. Hooked the blue brake lead to the light green wire in the steering harness, as directed in the install directions since it is a 1991 with anti-lock brakes. Everything works as it is supposed to except when the right blinker is activated, it also activates the trailer brakes as well. Please advise.

Per the special instructions in the Curt TriFlex # C24VV user guide, for Ford F-series trucks from 1989-1991 with anti-lock brakes, you do not connect the brake controller blue wire to the stoplight switch. Instead, you need to splice the red stoplight wire to the light green wire located on the turn signal harness connector under the dash near the steering column using the wire tap connector supplied. The blue brake wire should be wired from your trailer connector to the brake controller. On a traditional 7-way connector looking from the inside, this is the bottom-left pin when the connector is oriented with the the connector door positioned at the top. Refer to the wiring diagram attached below or in the user guide for more details.
