Do you know how much additional clearance you'd need to allow the tailgate to open? 12inches is a longer shank but we might have a slightly longer option. But if you need considerably more length we won't be much help.

I drive a 2017 Ford F-350 and pull a travel trailer with the following weight limits: Dry Weight 6975 lbs Payload Capacity 1575 lbs GVWR 8500 lbs Hitch Weight 814 lbs. I have weight distribution hitch with a 2 inch x 12 inch shank. The hitch on my truck is rated for 15,000 lbs and is 2 1/2 wide. I use a 2inch reducer. I need to travel with the tailgate down when towing my trailer with my UTV in the pickup bed. With the tailgate up the ball is 12inch from the back of the truck. I need to extend the hitch length when I tow with the tailgate down. What do you recommend? FYI- if needed I can put my tailgate approximately 3/4 of the way up. Thank You
