What Size Fuse/Breaker is Needed On Power Wire of 4 to 7-Way Adapter for Curt Echo
Question:
I have a 2017 Volvo XC60 on which I have installed your C56355 and 30717 4-to-7 adapter. It has worked very well for a couple years, but in my case was intended for just moving a trailer a short distance on private property and I didnt care about brakes. Now, however, I would like to have the trailer brakes two axle trailer work. I did run the supplied 12 ga. wire from the battery w/10 A fuse at the battery as instructed at initial installation. Can I mate the Curt Echo Wireless brake controller with that 7-pin with probably a heavier fuse ??? in honor of the brakes, or is the converter not up to the task? Separate subject, you folks do a great job with good products and especially good instructions and great support! Thanks.

The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 will work with pretty much any 4 to 7-way adapter like the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector part # 30717. The black wire on said adapter would need to be attached to the vehicle's battery but I do recommend a higher rated 40 amp fuse/circuit breaker, part # 9510.
The 4-pole converter harness would not have an affect on the brake controller.
