Will Firestone Ride-Rite Limit Compression and Extension on 2016 Ram 2500

Question:

Hi - Im very interested in the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle 2016 Ram 2500. I am curious how it affects the overall travel of the rear end. Does it limit the compression/extension in any way?

Installing air bags like the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2615 on your 2016 Ram 2500 are going to limit the compression and extension when inflated, as that's what they're designed to do; when unloaded, they're not going to limit the compression nearly as much but because the air bags are attached to the frame and leaf springs with brackets, over extension would potentially damage the bag.

With that said, they're a great solution to help absorb road shock, keep heavy loads leveled and fight off sway when towing; they're one of our more popular solutions for suspension enhancements and our customers really love the results they've gotten after installation.

These air bag kits come with manual inflation valves, so if you're using them on a truck that the payload and/or what you're towing frequently changes, you may want to consider adding an onboard compressor system like the Firestone Air Command II - Analog Gauge w/ Heavy Duty Compressor - Dual Function - 150 psi # F2219. This system will allow you to inflate the air bags to different psi to compensate for off-center loads.

I've linked some videos on these parts, and especially the video I attached that shows the road test really does a good job of showing how these air bags work to cushion the ride and would limit the travel of the truck north/south.
