How to Use Hitch Mounted Light Up Accessory with 2020 Ford Explorer and Have Backup Sensors
Question:
I need to get the running light and the brake lights full bright when brakes applied to operate normally. The vehicle sees the current draw and thinks it has a trailor installed. It turns off the reverse radar sensors and other safety features thinking a trailer is there. I was researching here and I think I should buy your hitch wiring kit to go around this problem. MY question is: How to wire it? Should I remove the tail lights and tap into the wiring like normal or another way? I just want brake and running lights. Please help.. TY

The Tekonsha trailer wiring harness part # 118599 would be your best solution to power the # BBS-1104L without causing your vehicle to think a trailer is connected and disabling sensors. This kit installs by plugging inline with the taillight connectors at the rear of your vehicle which bypasses the factory wiring altogether.
