Installation of Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack on 2006 Honda CR-V

Question:

Hello! I have a Honda CRV 2006, most of the install was fairly straight forward except for one part which has left me scratching my head. I have a tire width of P215. I used the short stand off extension and the short mounting bracket, but the locking knob stuck out once I hit the end of the track so to speak of the screw within the extension, I then tried the long standoff extension and the long mounting bracket, that adjusted the bike unit frame too far from the car, I then tried different combinations of both of the extension and the mounting bracket...and that didnt work. So I installed the bike unit frame without the extension, and the screw went in....is this an option? Do I need to go back to the drawing board? it felt like the locking knob was too long in both instances, and I didnt strip the screws

For your 2006 Honda CR-V the P215 tire uses the short mounting bracket you referenced without extension so you have the correct fit now for your Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack - Spare Tire Mount - Folding Dual Arms # TH963PRO. I've linked the portion of the page that shows the use based on tire size.
