Will Tilt of Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Allow Cargo Access on Sprinter Airstream Van
Question:
Hi, I need to know if this rack, when tilted back with bikes on,, will allow me to open the two swinging doors on the back of my Sprinter Airstream van. The videos I saw only showed hatchback SUVs. Thanks in advance for your help.

Expert Reply:
The dual swinging doors of your Sprinter van will not allow the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2 Bike Platform Rack # HR1450Z to fully open even when tilted. That tilt feature is designed for cargo access only on vehicles with a trunk or hatch.
The split rear hinged doors require a swing away style adapter like the Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches - Passenger's Side # PVP20B. This will allow access to your cargo area with the bike rack of your choosing.
