Yes, the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider, part # HR200Z, will work with a 2004 Subaru Forester if you have a hitch. I've included a link to a review video that has a segment on attaching it to the hitch.
If you don't have a hitch already, then I recommend getting the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C12038. It's relatively easy to install and will be able to accommodate your Hollywood Rack. I've included a link to an installation video for a 2003 Subaru Forester for you to look at.
