Trunk Mount Bike Rack for Honda Accord 2001 with Spoiler
Question:
Does this product work well if you have a spoiler?

I have some options for you, but the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier # TH910XT is not recommended for your 2001 Honda Accord due to how close the pivot point on the bike rack is to the spoiler on both the Coupe or Sedan models.
My first recommendation is the Saris Bones 2 Bike Rack # SA805BL. It's designed to work over most factory spoilers and I am personally a fan of its curved design. If you choose this rack, the install instruction for the coupe is to put the lower feet on the bumper. On the sedan, the lower feet need to sit on the flat vertical surface on the trunk face (the ledge right below the license plate).
If you want another Thule option, the Thule Gateway Pro 2 Bike Rack # TH88VR will fit over your spoiler. It uses a FitDial to adjust the angle it will fit over your vehicle. For the coupe, use the FitDial setting 6, and for the sedan use FitDial setting 7.
Of the two options, I prefer the Saris Bones, because of its versatility. If you have an extra long spoiler, this is the safer option. I attached a picture of it installed on a Honda Civic, as well as a video review so you can see it in action. You might also want to pick up a cable lock like # SA981 for extra security.
