Dimensions of the Pro Series 63072 Pintle Hook Mount and Shank
Question:
Hello, Could you tell me what the distance from the hitch pin hole to the back of the plate is on this model? I am in need of a pintle hitch to clear my bumper on a utility truck and need atleast 7 1/2inch from hitch pin to the back of the plate. This hitch will have to be used in the rise position due to the truck height.

The Pro Series Adjustable Pintle Hook Mounting Plate for 2" Hitches - 14K lbs # 63072 has a measurement from the front of the mounting plate to the center of the hitch pin hole of 9-11/16 inches. It sounds like you are wanting to know the backing of that front plats which will be at about 3/4 inches shorter. If you are seeking the measurement from the hitch pin hole to the back of the shank for clearance used in the rise position, it is 6-3/4 inches. I've attached a video to help with these measurements. If you want to use this style, you can replace the shank with the Reese Weight Distribution Shank - 16,000 lbs # RP54998 which is longer having that measurement in the rise position of 8 inches. Unfortunately the mount connecting to the shank is not available separately.
An alternative I also recommend is the B&W Pintle Hook Mounting Plate for 2" Hitches - 11" Shank - 8 Hole - 16,000 lbs # BWPMHD14003 which will give you 8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the plate with a support that is angled from 5-1/2 to that 8 inches. This should work well for you.
