Instructions for Installing Universal 5th Wheel Brackets and Rails on a 2012 Chevy Silverado

Question:

Is there a trick to mounting the universal 5th wheel brackets to the frame of a 2012 Silverado 2500? I took them from a setup on a 2008 Dodge 2500.

You will need to follow the instructions, linked for you, for the 2011 Chevy Silverado because it also applies to the 2012 models. You will first need to read pages 2 and 3 and then the specific instructions regarding the 2011 and newer Chevy trucks starts on page 4.

The hardware used to attach the rails and brackets is not meant to be re-used. You will need kit # RP58430 to attach the rails to the brackets and kit # 58164 for the hardware to attach the brackets to the truck frame.
