Picking Out Ball Mount Rise/Drop for Ford F-150 Towing Camper
Question:
Hi, I am looking to find the appropriate hitch receiver to tow my tow behind travel trailer for my truck. I have a 2012 Ford F-150 EcoBoost Lariat 4x2 and I am towing a 2009 250 RLS Prowler travel trailer. I have tried to tow it before but it was not the appropriate hitch. It Vd at where the hitch is. Im pretty sure I need a raised one but I do not know the appropriate one

In order to pick out the correct rise/drop ball mount for a towing setup you want to pick the ball mount that will allow your trailer to be towed as level as possible. Since trailers are made with various heights there is no one single ball mount that would work for every application.
Instead you will need to take a couple measurements on your trailer and tow vehicle so that you can pick out the correct one for you application. Check out the FAQ article I attached for more info on how this is done exactly.
When you figure out how much rise/drop you need check out the other link I attached that will take you to a page that has all of the ball mounts we carry. You will want to select the rise/drop you need from the filters and the correct ball mounts will be listed for you to use with your truck.
