Hitch and Rail Kit for 2017 Ram 1500 Short Bed to Use with Sidewinder Pin Box

Question:

I am considering buying a new fifth wheel camper and need to know what hitch and sidewinder to purchase. I own a 2017 ram 1500 with a 58 box with rambles. I was looking at the rp61452 sidewinder, the rp30928 hitch and rp 50142-58 rail assembly, will this set up work for me? Thank you

Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.

You will want a fixed hitch then like the Reese part # RP30047 and a custom fit rail kit part # RP50142-58 which is custom fit for your 2017 Ram 1500 5-1/2 ft bed.
