Ladder Recommendations for Mallard RB-210 Travel Trailer

Question:

I have a new Mallard RB-210 RV. I’d like to mount a ladder on the trailer but don’t know if there is one that would be recommended for my trailer and model. I will install it myself and can either mount the base with a 90 degree basket to the back wall just above the bumper or alternatively to vertically to the rear bumper. Any ideas which models and size will fit best? Thanks

In order to choose the right ladder for your needs, you'll need to measure from the top of the roof down to where you'd like the bottom of the ladder to fall, then add the height of the return to that height. For instance, the Surco # SP502L ladder you'd looked has an 8 inch return and is 84-1/2 inches tall in total. The feet of the ladder would mount 76-1/2 inches below the edge of the roof. If that height works for you, this would be a great choice.

We also offer other ladders like the Stromberg Carlson # LA-401 which has a total height of 99-1/2 inches and a 7 inch return, which would place the bottom of the ladder at 92-1/2 inches below the roofline. The ladder is height adjustable, and can be shortened by cutting the legs at the bottom of the ladder. The same ladder is available in anodized aluminum as part # LA-401BA.

Because of its being height adjustable, the Stromberg Carlson ladder would likely be your best bet. When installing, you'll want to ensure that the fasteners tie into solid blocking, not just the wall sheathing.
