Recommended Bike Rack For Heavy Cruiser Bikes on Class I Hitch Receiver on 2020 Hyundai Venue

Question:

Im confused. I just had a trailer hitch installed on my 2020 Hyundai Venue. You offer the same one on this website that I had installed. Its a 1 1/4inch Class I. Ive FINALLY found a bike rack I want...so difficult....and the info says Class II and Class III. Some Hyundai websites say my car can actually tow 1,700 lbs, although Id never do that nor would I ever have the need. I just want a hitch mounted, platform bike rack, that holds my bike frames because I have Townies with fenders and weird frame style. Thanks for your help.

For your 2020 Hyandai Venue, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C57CR is currently the only option we have and it is restricted to only allow class I compatible bike racks. There are many bike rack options that will not allow compatibility with a Class I hitch receiver, so since you have Townie bikes, I know they are heavier and as you stated have fenders which further limits your options.

I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT 2 E-Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # TH903202 which is a great quality rack that has a ramp as well as easy loading and storage options. I've attached a video of this rack for you to take a look at.
