One Piece Cradle and Strap for a Thule Bike Rack
Question:
I need a one piece cradle and strap for a Thule Bike Rack. My cradle and strap is one-piece, not separate. See the picture. If you dont carry it can you tell me the model # and/or reference name for the original part? I want to try to keep it original and uniform with the other three.

I just finished speaking with my Thule representative who tells me that if the tubing your cradles sit on is 1 inch in diameter, any of the current Thule replacement cradles will work as a replacement. An exact replacement is no longer available.
The Replacement Stay-Put Cradle, part # 853-7887 would be the closest available replacement. You would need two cradles per bike, plus 2 replacement straps, # 852-3006-001 per bike.
The older racks used tubing that was smaller than 1 inch in diameter, and would not stay snug on the tubing. Wrapping the tubing where the cradles sit with tape in order to make the cradles fit tightly might be an option.
The cradles can be difficult to install and remove. We have found that cheap aerosol hair spray will act as a lubricant when it is wet, enabling you to easily work the cradles off the tubing. When the spray dries, it is slightly tacky and will help hold the cradles in place.
