Recommended Brake Controller for 2017 Ford F-150
Question:
Are the controllers with accelerometers, proportional ? Can all Brake Controllers be switched though a solenoid turned off?

Yes. All proportional brake controllers, like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 you asked from, have an accelerometer integrated that help it determine the braking pressure needed to proportionately apply the trailer brakes based on movement of the tow vehicle as well as the brake light signal.
You can use a solenoid like # PK5231201 to cut the power to the brake controller if you desire, but I don't recommend it. The power draw on a brake controller when your vehicle isn't running is so minimal it is just like the power draw keeping your clock up do date on the stereo that it would take months of sitting without starting the vehicle to cause a battery drain issue. Keeping that power connected will keep your settings so you don't need to reprogram the controller each time you turn off the vehicle. I recommend just using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 22292 for your connection under the dash and not changing the factory wiring at all.
