Recommended Flat Towing Removable Light Kit for Jeep and RV with 4 way Flat Connector

Question:

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but we are new to towing. We just had the Blue Ox tow bar installed on our jeep, but are having trouble getting the brake lights and turn signal on left side to work on toad while RV headlights are one. So thought maybe just purchase the# EZT20B. Does that get its power from the receiver hitch plug not sure if that is correct terminology? Not sure if our receiver hitch plug has a 4 way flat connector, so could we use# HM47065? Appreciate your patience! : Also, if you dont mind what could be wrong with the brake lights and turn signals not working? Place that installed it is having trouble figuring it out.

We are absolutely here to help in these types of situations!

Using something like the Magnetic LED Tow Lights # TLL21RK would bypass any of the vehicle lighting completely and give you a set of tow lights that are easy to remove when not in use. This will plug into a 4 way flat on your RV, or if you've got a 7 way connector you can use the Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire Adapter for 7-Way to 4-Wire Flat # HM47065 you mentioned.

When it comes to the brake lights not working on the toad when the RV headlights are on, it's likely a faulty ground of some sort that is overloading the circuits when the additional lights get added to the equation. You would want to check there first to make sure that the tow bar wiring that is currently installed. If that's not the cause, please let me know which tow bar wiring kit you're using on your Jeep and I can let you know what else to look at.
