How To Prevent a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee From Sagging While Towing

Question:

We have a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2019 Passport 2210RB. We have replaced the battery with 2 lithium ion batteries and a 16 lb. lockable battery case. We have weighed the vehicle and trailer several times with different results and have also used a tongue weight scale, but the figures do not make sense. What information do you need to determine why the vehicle is squatting and whether or not we can tow the trailer with this vehicle?

It is not uncommon to experience squat or sag while towing even if you are within the manufactures guidelines for the towing capacity of the vehicle. The easiest and most cost effective solution to fix this would be to add a set of rear suspension enhancements that you can use while towing. For this, I recommend the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F4157 since they are adjustable which means they won't affect the ride quality while you are not towing.
