Why Does LED Trailer Light Kit Have Plug With Three Covered and One Exposed Pin

Hello, It appears is if this kit is what I am looking for, for my boat trailer. I am looking to upgrade to LED. The 4 pole connector, that would connect to my truck appears to have a plastic housing around it and it looks like it might not be the correct connection. What I need is 3 male plugs and 1 female. I also have a larger plug option but was trying to avoid that. I have a 2013 F-150 with a tow package. Can you help please? Similar to the attached picture but in much better shape :

The LED Trailer Light Kit for Trailers Over 80" Wide part # TL16RK comes with a trailer wiring harness that has both the vehicle side plug (three covered, one exposed pin) and the trailer side plug (three exposed, one covered).

Therefore, it has what you need to install properly and hook up to an F-150.
