How to Prevent Cradles on Swagman Titan Bike Rack From Sliding on Arms During Travel

Question:

Hello, i recently purchased the Swagman Titan 2 bike rack July 13 S63400. This past weekend I used it on a short 15 mile trip with my off road bike attached. I got up to speeds of 70 mph. At my destination I noticed the cradle holding the rear of the bike moved forward 4-5 inches while the cradle holding the front of the bike remained in place. I slid the back cradle into position and drove another 30 miles only to find the same result. Are the cradles designed to move back and forth on the arms of the rack? I would expect them to be attached to the arms to prevent this kind of movement so the bikes stay in place and dont rub against each other. Either this is a design flaw or my Swagman is defective. Let me know. Thanks.

The cradles on the Swagman Titan # S63400 are designed to adjust back and forth to accommodate different sized bikes. It's not ideal, but sometimes this can lead to them moving around during travel like what you're experiencing.

Something we've found that works really well to resolve this is to clean the arm with some soap and water, let it dry, and then spray the arm with hairspray. Once the cradle slides back into place the spray will eventually help to stick it to the arm (before the spray settles the cradle will still be able to slide easily).
