Recommended Front Hitch and e-Bike Rack for 1996 Airstream RV on Ford E-350 Chassis
Question:
We have a 1996 Airstream B190 Ford E350 van and the rear will have a Stowaway 2 Cargo carrier and at times also a Jeep or trailer behind that. We need a front solution to carry our 2 E-bikes that will not block our driving view. You have a hitch that mounts to the frame below the van and also a front mount bike rack. I want to verify exactly which models these are and what other parts are required I am not thinking of. Tks

We can definitely get you set up for this application.
For the E-350 chassis your 1996 Airstream is built on, the Curt Front Hitch # 33055 will work perfectly. It's designed specifically to fit this chassis but note that some minor drilling will be required during installation. I've attached the complete installation manual below.
Then for a bike rack that will fit this hitch and work great with your e-bikes, I highly recommend the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR. This durable carrier can safely handle two bikes that weigh as much as 70 pounds each and includes locks to help protect your investments. I've linked a video demonstration on this rack as well.
With a higher van like this I don't think the rack will really obstruct your view, but one thing you will want to be aware of is reduced air flow to the engine and transmission. Any time you add something to the front of a vehicle you can run into this issue. You will just want to keep an eye on the engine temp during travel, especially while sitting in traffic or riding through hilly terrain.
