Can these be put on a boat trailer if wires are sealed with heat shrink

The Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA can be used on a boat trailer. There aren't many issues to deal with in this case but I do recommend unplugging your trailer when backing into the water. There will likely never be a case of your controller activating while backing down but you never know. By unplugging you will eliminate this.

There is also the concern that moisture will be held inside the brake assembly and hub not like standing water but residual moisture that can stay in there and cause corrosion inside of the assemblies. When installing them I would use a good grease on the moving components to keep them lubricated but no excessive application because we don't want any to fall off and get on the drum or brake magnet surface.
