Recommended Trailer Brake Conversion to Oil Bath Disc Brakes

Question:

Hello, I have a 7K axle with #42 spindle with grease bearings and an electric brake drum assembly. I want to convert this axle to an oil bath hub with kodiak slip over disc brakes. I would like to use my existing wheel bearings if possible as they are brand new. Can you please confirm that using Hub assembly 008-399-93 and disc brake kit K2R79 would work for this application. I will also need a hydraulic brake actuator and a hydraulic brake line kit. Can you please recommend products for this. Also is their a complete axle setup like this already made that may cheaper to buy than trying to convert mine? Thank You,

To convert your 7K #42 axle from drum brakes to hydraulic disk brakes with wet bearings I recommend the HydraStar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - 7K # HSE7K-T1. The 10-10 Grease or Oil Double-Lip Seals - Qty 2 # RG06-090 will work with the Oil Cap Kit - 21-40 # RG04-260.

This is the best option for your conversion.
