Comparing the Swagman Dispatch and Swagman Platform Rack for RV Use

Question:

We have a Winnebago View motorhome on a Sprinter platform. I was interested in John Rs review/comparison between the Swagman dispatch and platform. I am wondering if I should be concerned about either the 1 hitch distance 8 inches and 12 inches or 2 the road clearance issue ? Also, I want only the 2 inch hitch- not a 1 1/4 converter which tends to create play over time. Also, is it possible to add locks to either rack? I would like to proceed with this purchase after this one query is recommended.

For your Winnebago View Motorhome, the Swagman Dispatch # S44FR is without a doubt my recommendation. The Dispatch allows more room at the connection point to the motorhome for clearance but also is made to be much more sturdy and can support bikes up to 10 lbs heavier than the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches or RV Bumpers # S64663 which is designed to be an economical hitch option. The Dispatch also gives you a 6-1/4 inch rise that the other rack does not for increased ground clearance.

For stability and support, I personally don't think these racks are very comparable. The difference in cost is in the quality of the product as well as the included locks to secure your bikes and the rack to your motorhome. Both will confidently get your bikes down the road but you will see more stability and have more peace of mind with the Dispatch in my opinion.
