Will the Yakima HoldUp Fit Clear the Spare Tire on a 2011 Toyota RAV4
Question:
Will this work well on a 2011 Toyota RAV4 with the rear spare tire? If not, can you recommend tray models in similar price range? Yakima HoldUp 4 Bike Platform Rack - 2inch Hitches - Tilting - Frame Mount Item # Y02443-2

The Yakima HoldUp # Y02443-2 has 12" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the to the closest wheel carrier, which might be sufficient to clear the rear mounted spare tire. The best way to confirm if this rack will work on your 2011 Toyota RAV4, you'll want to measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch to the edge of the spare tire; as long as that distance is not greater than 12", the HoldUp will work well for you. It would need to be less than 7 inches to use this rack in the folded position.
If you measure and find that this is not going to be sufficient, then maybe the Saris Freedom # SA4414B would work. It has a measure of 13-1/2" when folded down to carry bikes and 10 inches in the folded position. This rack has a lower price than the Holdup but you would need to purchase locks separately if you want them to secure your hitch and your bikes with the part # SA984.
If neither of these racks work, please let me know the distance you find and I can see if there is something that will provide the clearance you're looking for.
I have added review videos of the Yakima HoldUp and the Saris Freedom for you to check out.
