Is Demco Recon DM8550043 Compatible with Curt 16310 X5 5th Wheel Rail Adapter

The Demco Recon Industry Standard Rail Mounted 5th wheel hitch, part # DM8550043 would indeed be compatible with the industry standard rails provided by the Curt # 16310.

The Curt # 16310 is compatible with the B&W Turnover ball, and if you're going to go that route, you might consider B&W Companion, part # BWRVK3500-5W for a long bed truck or # BWRVK3400-5W for a 6-1/2 foot bed. If you don't already have the Curt # 16310, using the Companion would eliminate the need for the adapter.

The # DM6180 you referred to is just the hitch base assembly, it doesn't include the 5th wheel head.
