Bolt On Roof Rack/Basket For 2018 Polaris RZR XP4 Turbo

Question:

I would like to install a roof rack and basket on a 2018 Rzr xp4 ATV, primarily to carry camping gear, and after removal of the basket to carry a canoe. The Rzr has a metal roof with no headliner, and although it is not exactly rectangular, it has a usable rectangular dimension of 38”W x 54”L. The bar length ideally would be 38”. Would the Rhino rack legs for camper shells- fixed mount- RFMPC- be a workable solution? Can the bars be cut shorter and end caps reinstalled? Would the Rhino rack RMCB basket be a good solution? Do you have other recommendations? Thank you for your help.

Having had a Side by Side, I know some of the trails can get pretty hairy and rough. Those rough rides are what really take a toll on your equipment, so I would recommend keeping it as simple as you can. We do not carry parts for your specific situation, but I can lead you to the system that I would use to get the best result.

Since you are customizing your rig, drilling will be required. If you are okay with that, then the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack Legs - Fixed Mount - Item # RFMPC you suggested would be a great solution because they use multiple bolts and provide a backing plate to cover the exposed bolts in the inside roof of your 2018 RZR XP4. When the road gets bumpy, you don't want a bolt to poke a hole in your helmet or someone to get hurt.

Thw Rhino-Rack roof rack legs are designed for the Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Roof Rack Crossbars - Black - 44" Long - Qty 2 Item # RB1120B-2. The shortest bar offered is 44" but you can trim them carefully if need be.

For your canoe, you can use the C-Channels on the Heavy Duty Crossbars to install the Rhino-Rack Nautic 580 Side Loading Kayak Carrier - Saddle Style - Side Loading - Channel Mount Item # RR580. This will keep the canoe nice and snug in the saddle and the kit comes with the tie downs which is nice.

In regards to a roof basket, I suggest theThule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 49" x 40" x 6" - 150 lbs
Item # TH859XT.

After using the basket for a year or so and you decide that you want a little more space in your basket, you can just grab a 20" extensio, part # TH8591XT. It's nice to know that there are options down the road.

This is going to be quite the rig when you're done and I'm excited to see how it looks!
