Will Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier Fit on 2019 Buick Encore with Rear Hatch
Question:
With this attached to the rear pop up door on my 2019 Buick Encore, can the rear door be opened for access with the rack still mounted as long as no bikes are in it?

The Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier # TH910XT is compatible with your 2019 Buick Encore with the rear hatch.
Just like with any other trunk mount rack you will need to remove the bikes and the bike rack prior to opening up your rear hatch. Reason being that the hooks used to mount the bike rack can possibly damage your vehicle, the straps could get loose, plus the rear hatch wasn't designed to hold that kind of weight so it could cause the hatch to close unexpectantly on you.
The only way to avoid removing a bike rack while gaining rear hatch access is by using a hitch mount or roof mount option. If you'd like to go one of these routes then let me know so I can help you figure out what you need. Otherwise I have attached a review video of this on a 2015 Encore that you can check out.
