Can Hatch on 2011 Honda Odyssey be Opened with Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack Installed

Hello, I am looking to order this bike rack. I have a 2011 Honda Odysee Touring Edition. With the Rack on the vehicle, can I still open the trunk or do i have to take the rack off to do so, thank you.

The Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack # HRF2-3 does fit your 2011 Honda Odyssey but you will need to remove it prior to opening your hatch. There are a few reasons for this actually; the hooks that secure the rack could get damaged or damage the vehicle and your hatch wasn't designed to have a load on it when opened. We've actually heard stories of the hatch closing on someone unexpectedly because they left the rack on.
This is the case for any trunk mount bike rack and the only way to avoid this is to either go to a roof mount or hitch mount bike rack. Let me know if you want to go this route and I can help you figure out what your best option will be.
