How To Confirm Correct Equa-Flex or E-Z Flex Replacement Equalizer
Question:
Hi there! I remodeled an old 1981 camper. I’ve decided it’s time for the suspension to be replaced. Looking for some guidance on exactly which parts would be best for the job. The details... 1. It is a dual axle, with the VIN plate indicating each axle having a GVAR of 3,816 2. Post remodel the trailer weighs wet at around 5,300. 3. The current leaf springs are 25 1/8” Center eye to eye, 9/16 eye diameter and 1 3/4” inch wide springs. There are currently 3 springs stacked. 4. The mid frame bracket where the two springs come together in the center is 4 1/4” tall by 2” wide. The current hole in the frame is 1” from the brackets bottom. 5. The center of the spring to the trailer frame is 4 1/2”. I am wanting to replace the entire system, and beef it up a bit too it. I’ve been looking at the following products and could use some recommendations about what might be best given my specs... 1. EZ Flex equalizers Which would work with specs? 2. Equa flex equalizers which would work with specs? 3. Which leaf springs would I go with? 2,000 pound per?

In order to confirm the correct replacement equalizer like the Equa-Flex part # LC279687 or E-Z Flex part # K71-652-00 you'll need to measure your existing and choose the one that best matches them. The weight capacities listed for each are just a guide and should not be used solely to determine compatibility.
In regards to replacing the leaf springs, you'd need to know the axle capacity and unloaded length. The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring part # e54SR most closely matches what you described.
