Recommended Bike Rack for Carrying 2 Electric Bikes on Rear of Fifth Wheel
Question:
We are having a hitch welded to the frame of our 5th wheel 34 foot trailer to use a bike rack for 2 heavy ebikes. will this bike rack work. It shows on the chart that it is not for trailers or rv. Also what lock or chain type lock do you recommend there seem to be a lot of negative remarks about this carrier being secure against theft.

Bike racks installed on the rear of a towed camper will be subject to an increased level of bouncing and battering compared to what they'd experience if installed on a passenger vehicle. This is caused by the less soft suspension and the increased rear overhang found on a travel trailer or fifth wheel. In order to be used in this situation, the bike rack needs to be specifically designed to withstand the beating it'll take. The product could fail and drag your bikes and cause all kinds of damage.
Even though the Thule T2 Classic # TH9045 isn't designed for a fifth wheel, I do have a solution for you. The Hollywood Racks RV Rider, part # HLY64FR is designed for heavier electric bikes, weighing up to 80 lbs each. It is specifically designed for use on a motorhome or fifth wheel and would be the best and only solution we offer that would enable you to carry your bikes on the rear of your fifth wheel.
The rack includes locking bike holding clamps, a cable lock and a locking hitch pin.
