Recommended Trunk Mounted 3 Bike Rack for 2011 Toyota Prius

Question:

does the 9007 fit on a 2011 Prius? is there a problem if the foam rollers lay on the rear hatch window rather than top metal part of hatchback? are the straps long enough to reach the metal top portion of the hatchbac?. Which Thule rack is best for the Prius 2011 - 9001, 9009, or 9007?

The Thule Gateway 3 bike model, part # TH78VR is a fit for your Prius. All of the racks you mentioned would contact the the rear window, but due to the fact that the vast majority of the weight would be borne by the bottom portion of the rack, this will not prove a problem. The straps would indeed be long enough to reach the top of the hatch.

Although all the racks you mentioned would work, I sincerely believe you would like the OutWay, part # TH56BV best. Instead of the awkward straps and buckles that will need adjusting each time the rack is installed or removed, the OutWay uses unique ratcheting cables that allow the rack to be installed or removed in seconds. One of the ratchet assemblies is lockable, which secures the rack to the vehicle. The OutWay is one of the most popular trunk mounted racks we carry, and is very highly rated by our customers.

To carry women's bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter like part # TH982XT is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.
