Recommendation for Preventing Trailer Lights from Shorting Out when Backed Into Water
Question:
I am having a problem with my drivers side trailer lihgt blowing when i back it in to unload. i replaced the light with a new submersible and still having a problem what would cause this

It sounds like the problem is in the wiring, I would check the wiring from the light up to any part of the wiring that will be submerged when the boat is in the water and check for any exposed wire that could be causing the short.
Honestly, if I were you I would just unplug the trailer connector before you back your trailer into the water as this will bypass any problems and you would not have to worry about shorting your lights assemblies.
