How to Wire Brake Controller to 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe Using the Factory Wiring Adapter

i have a 2001 chev tahoe w/ 7 pin plug in place. also have factory pigtail to plug in and wire controller. the controller i have is kelsey #10958001.How do I wire to this controller?

The OEM wiring adapter does not wire up to the controller color for color. You will want to wire it as follows, the red harness wire provides the 12 Volt power to the controller, and connects to the black brake controller wire. The light blue brake wire on the harness is wired into the brake stoplight switch, and connects with the red wire on the controller. The black wire on the harness provides the ground connection, connect it to the white wire on the brake controller. The dark blue wire on the harness carries the brake output, and connects with the blue wire on the controller. The brown harness wire is for an illumination circuit, and is not used. Tape up the end of this wire, and bundle it up out of the way.
