What Weight Distribution System do you Recommend for my 2008 Ram 2500 and my 2019 Mallard M33
Question:
I have a 2019 Mallard M33 travel trailer and I am towing it with a 2008 Dodge 2500 with 6.7 Cummins. The trailer actually rides pretty nice but I would like to put a weight distribution kit with sway control in case of overly windy days. I am not sure which kit to look at due to the difference in dry weight vs GVWR. Need some help and thanks in advance for the help. Here are the specs on the trailer. GVWR = 9,600 lbs Dry Weight = 7,746 lbs Hitch Weight = 702 lbs

With a dry hitch weight of 702 lbs. You need to add for the weight going into the camper and also the weight going behind the rear axle. I assume after loading your stuff up and adding water and propane and such you're going to be at 800-900 lbs. tongue weight. For that the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37100ET is what I would choose. Its sweet spot is between 600-1000 lbs. right where you'll want to be without overdoing it. The thing I like most about the system is that it gives excellent sway control to keep things in line and running smooth.
If you don't have one the 1-7/8" Thin walled socket Part # EQ70-00-4800 makes assembly much easier.
