What Bike Rack do you Recommend for use on my Camper and my SUV  

Question:

I am thinking about ordering this for my SUV but we also have a travel trailer but I see it says it will not work on a travel trailer. Why will it not work? Thanks for your help.

There is a lot of extra up and down movement when you get to the back end of a camper s you head down the road. Some racks are tested to withstand it and some aren't. Generally the ones that aren't are going to be the ones that have a tilt function. The extra pivot point seems to be an issue for some. The Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack part # TH92BJ is a really great rack just not suited for that job.

The Swagman Original 3 Bike Rack part # S64152-2 is approved for use in a travel trailer as well as the the Yakima LongHaul RV Bike Rack part # Y02476. These are both hanging racks not designed for carbon bikes and will only fit a 2" hitch so not exactly what you were looking at but they are the only hitch options.

We do have the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches or RV Bumpers part # S64663. This will give you the platform rack that will attach around the camper's bumper and can be taken off for use on a 2" hitch.
